THE LESSONS PROGRAM
After many years of playing, performing, studying, and teaching, I have created an approach to music education which is rooted in strong classical fundamentals, but more focused on the fun and enjoyment of the music we want to listen to and play the most. Through a light-hearted approach to discipline, we find the freedom to embrace and express any kind of music we desire.
Music levels are organized into 26 week programs which align with the school year and it's usual holiday break periods. At the end of the program, students will be tested at their level to evaluate progress to date, and to assess the potential for progression. Summer lessons are also available and can either be complimentary to your chosen program, or a chance to explore something new.
There is no age limit to begin music lessons; however, the program is most successful with students who are at least 8 years old when they begin.
Evening and weekend lessons are FULL.
Student are currently being accepted for daytime lessons.

MEET THE TEACHER
Not your average music teacher. Richard (Rick) has known he would spend his life dedicated to learning and sharing in the joy of music for as long as he can remember. He began studying piano at the age of 7 playing popular genres, then later moving on to classical music education when he learned of the important foundation it could provide in learning other styles of music. At the age of 10, he also got his hands on a guitar, and it was love-at-first-sight. Since then, Richard has acquired 30 years of experience playing in a wide array of positions and ensembles, performing styles of music ranging from classical, to rock, blues, pop, folk, Latin, jazz, electronic music, and more. He has completed his Grade 10 Certification on piano with the Royal Conservatory of music, and applied some of that experience to his guitar training to create a syllabus and structured program that students can count on.
